It won't damage the battery, but it can be inconvenient. If the board has been fully discharged and then stored for a period of time, the natural slow lithium battery discharge can cause the battery to need to be recovered this way. Boosted Board Extended Range batteries have an unfortunate issue where if battery cells become imbalanced they will lock the user out permanently rendering the battery no longer usable. If after a couple attempts you try this and it doesn't begin to charge normally (check the remote to see if it is actually gaining charge after 15min on the charger again, then you can send it to us to give it a jump start and get the battery charged again. I've even seen someone use a treadmill or a hand drill setup to get the wheels spinning for a while. This can be done by kicking the board around for 15-20 min at about 10mph, or even being creative and having someone pull you around with a bike. You just need to have the wheels spinning enough to give it just a small regenerative charge. Does the board turn on? Are there any flashing red error lights on the board? ![]() There is a possibility that the board may have been discharged too far.
